“Previously, we had several solutions that were either developed internally or by our sister companies in partnership with local vendors. Most of the solutions were technologically outdated- very difficult and expensive to maintain and operate. Based on that, our top management made the decision to start to build one common e-commerce platform across the entire group.“
Why did you choose Vaimo and Magento?
“Right at the outset of the project, we decided to choose the e-commerce platform and the solution partner at the same time. The final decision to go for Magento and Vaimo was the result of a very extensive vendor selection process. To begin with, we drew up capability specifications with a number of our sales companies. We then compiled a long list of vendors based on the Gartner Magic Quadrant. From there, we drew up a short list on the basis of feedback to our Request for Information, after which we ran an Request for Proposal process with a few potential vendors – supported by various workshops with three shortlisted vendors. This was followed by technical workshops with Vaimo – at that point our preferred solution partner. The entire selection process lasted almost six months, at the end of which Magento and Vaimo were the clear winners.”
